What a quiet weekend!
I had to work yesterday (that time of year, sort of like how retail is at the holidays I guess) for a few hours. I came home and did a steam cleaning of all of the downstairs floors. Again. Arlo and Steve went and picked up the baby's bookshelf. It's nice to get stuff done. Steve made a little gazebo area in the backyard and it's been nice to go outside and read. He has been working on the small yard quite a bit. His goal is to have the grill covered enough so that we can grill throughout the fall/winter. It doesn't really snow here, so I guess that makes sense. And I certainly enjoy it.
Off to Tori's today to visit with her daughter and meet her family. I've been looking forward to this all week :)
I think that the Food Network finally has a new cooking show that is actually good. The host is the sous chef of Mario Batali on Iron Chef America. It's called Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and it is pretty good. The host, Ann, is sort of annoying but it had a few good tips in it.
We finished some more Obama t-shirts and I'm looking forward to sending in our next campaign contribution check. I found the letter that my mother wrote to Howard Dean and am wondering if it is inevitable to go bat shit crazy. Seriously, the craziest letter ever. She was a huge Clinton supporter and hates Obama. Her new target is Howard Dean. Ugh. So much I could say about this issue.
Have a fantastic weekend!!!

I still feel great. The big changes this week are 1) I'm feeling so much more movement, and it's the greatest thing ever, 2) my belly is getting really big, 3) I can't be on my feet for over an hour or so without feeling a bit of lower back pain, 4) I'm starting to bloat a bit in my arms, face, boobs, legs, ass, hips, and my fingers :). I had trouble getting my wedding band off last night when I was putting on my belly cream. I'm trying to keep my new found sweet tooth in line, but it's tough. I bought my usual Saturday bounty of fruits yesterday, but the nectarines would be so much better grilled and then put over shortcake with whipped cream as opposed to on their own. Things are coming along well in preparation for the baby. I finally found a crib that we love, the registry is pretty much done, and we have so many clothes. I love that we were able to get so many hand me downs. I have the clothing put into different age groups, but I need to get them into bins and label them. I don't think that we will need any night clothing, onesies, or socks for the baby ever. I found an antique dresser in Sellwood that I'm going to pick up next week. My next appointment is August 7th. So far, so good. I'm very fortunate and I know it. I really just haven't had a moment where I haven't been so grateful and so happy about this baby. I certainly spent the first 20 weeks being nervous about the pregnancy lasting and lamenting the sickness and fatigue, but I'm so lucky.
Here's a pic of me and my belly at 24 weeks. Oh my.
