We had a wonderful dinner out to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Of course. we ended up talking about the baby all evening. Not so much a fun couple night :)
We went to Sel Gris for an early dinner. The chef, our old neighbor, sent out an appetizer for us with some wine. I guess I forgot to tell him that Steve hates the idea of sweetbreads and won't eat them and that I'm pregnant. We shared our meals and it was fantastic. The dungeness crab salad had grapefruit granita and radish all around it and was just so, so good. We also had a peach and nectarine arugula salad with percerino. Yummmmmmm. The yellowtail in miso broth was delicious, as was the steak. We had a really delicious cheesecake for dessert too. Local peach and huckleberry over a homemade ricotta cheesecake. It's a great special occasion spot in Portland.
I'll be 32 weeks on Monday! I'm starting to feel pretty tired again, but I think that I have spent about 40% of this pregnancy in bed or eating sweets. My doctor's appointment was mixed in it's review. The baby's heartbeat is great, size is good, my blood pressure and weight are fantastic, and things looked great. I had a higher glucose reading though, which means that I have to do another test and watch my diet. I meet with the nutritionist on Tuesday and have my extended test on Wednesday. It's manageable, but I feel some failure. I am hoping that I don't have gestational diabetes and that my levels were just elevated.
Off to pick up a new bed and mattress today. Steve and I have used a full bed since we moved in together and are excited to get something bigger. Steve's excited to get the dogs off of the bed. I think that he is mistaken :) Tim is coming over later to help put the crib together.
Off to get coffee.
xoxo

See you tomorrow. Yay!
I hope things settle with your glucose level. *hugz*
And no matter what happens with your blood sugars, it doesn't make you a failure. Some bodies get gestational diabetes and some don't. There is no recipe for why.
